Zygo customers in Brazil can purchase cheaper ZeGage Pro 3D optical profilers

Optical metrology solutions provider, Zygo Corporation, has revealed that customers in Brazil will be able to purchase its ZeGage Pro 3D optical profiler with a discount as high as 20%. The deal, which will run for at least two years, became a reality when the Brazilian government gave the system an import tax reduction.

The ZeGage Pro works by measuring height variations on surfaces without making physical contact with the area. The system can do this as it uses light as a probe. Additionally, the ZeGage Pro boasts high accuracy levels through its use of Coherence Scanning Interferometry (CSI) as its primary measurement technology.

“We are excited to have been granted the temporary import tax reduction which makes the impressive ZeGage Pro that much more accessible to customers in Brazil for at least the next two years,” said Júlio M. Pitman, Director (MD) at Zygo Brazil.

“It took us 5 months’ work to secure the import tax reduction which is available when there are no equivalent products produced domestically in Brazil. It’s importance is fundamental as it allows domestic Brazilian companies to access cutting-edge optical metrology solutions and therefore stimulates innovation across numerous industry sectors increasing productivity and competitiveness.”
