General Inspection has announced that an electronics and industrial sector company has invested in one of its VisionLab-76 gauging systems. The company has made the purchase in the hopes that by adopting the system it will be able to improve its quality assurance processes, particularly for parts before assembly.
The VisionLab-75 is an inspection device designed to provide precise and speedy quality validation. According to the developers, the gauging system aims to give the user improved accuracy levels when it comes to dimensional measurements, ensuring that each component meets high-quality standards.
Key features of the VisionLab-75:
- Features a high-resolution camera and a telecentric lens.
- Includes sophisticated software that provides 360-degree inspections.
- Equipped with a Surface View module which utilises LED front lighting to improve the visibility of the outer surface of parts.
- It boasts advanced algorithms which detail feature measurements and defect analysis to improve error detection and quality control.
- An Upper Tooling and Bit Kit is integrated into the system making the system more versatile as it can measure recess features and bore depths.
Since implementing the gauging system, the electronics company is said to have seen a significant improvement regarding its quality assurance processes. The company believes that these changes are presumed to be a result of its new automated inspection procedures of critical components.
The VisionLab-75 is used to conduct first-piece inspections to validate initial part quality before mass production. Additionally, it can perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor process stability and detect and analyse surface defects. Finally, quality audits will be streamlined to provide in-depth inspection reports and data to ensure continuous improvement.
