SCANTECH's new SIMSCAN-E
SCANTECH’s wireless, palm-sized 3D scanner was designed to combine the benefits of a lightweight design with high-performance levels. The SIMSCAN-E utilises advanced edge computing and HD industrial cameras to provide the user with improved precision and efficiency when capturing 3D data.
Measuring up to 6.3 million points per second, SIMSCAN-E features three scanning modes: ultra-fast, hyperfine, and deep hole. Having three modes allows the solution to perform scanning processes in a variety of environments to complete various tasks. Additionally, these modes ensure that the system can be used in a selection of applications from industrial inspections to detailed 3D modelling, covering the entire product lifecycle.
Each operating mode utilises a different number of blue laser lines. The ultra-fast scanning mode uses 63 blue laser lines for efficient scanning, as well as geometry and dimension evaluation. Whereas hyperfine scanning employs 17 parallel blue laser lines to capture swift details and intricate features of complex structures. Finally, deep hole scanning only uses 1 blue laser line to measure the depth of holes and hard-to-reach places.

Using the DefinSight software platform, the SIMSCAN-E leverages cutting-edge algorithms and layouts to both simplify and speed up 3D scanning. The system features a Smart Guide, Real-time Meshing, and Magic Button Control to help make the system more user-friendly, enhance quality levels and improve the efficiency of 3D scanning processes.
