Renishaw will be exhibiting version 4.8 of its CARTO software suite at the EMO Hannover 2023 exhibition from 18-23 September.
This latest addition allows users to perform off-axis rotary measurement using the XM-60 multi-axis calibrator. Where Renishaw’s XR20 rotary axis calibrator cannot be consistently mounted to the centre of rotation, the new software allows for a simplified process when calibrating rotary axes.
Key highlights:
- Version 4.8 of the CARTO software suite will be able to perform off-axis rotary measurements.
- The addition of the XM-60 multi-axis calibrator enables measurements of all axes of a 5-axis machine tool with a single laser system.
- Renishaw aims to simplify the process of calibrating rotary axes with this new software.
On the latest version, Dan Throup, Product Owner for Calibration Software at Renishaw, explained: “Users will see a real benefit from the increased productivity from the XM-60 multi-axis calibrator. The XM-60 laser applies CARTO Capture’s automatic sign detection and position-based trigger to make the process quicker and eliminate user error previously associated with off-axis rotary measurement.”
The Renishaw XR20 rotary axis calibrator is Renishaw's established solution for direct measurement of rotary errors for machine tools, stages and jigs. Whereas the XM-60, with its off-axis rotary measurement mode, allows users to quickly capture and analyse data from all rotary axes, of any configuration.
CARTO contains three applications: 'Capture' to collect laser measurement data, 'Explore' for powerful analysis to international standards and 'Compensate' for quick and easy error correction.
