nLIGHT announces its double product launch for battery manufacturers

nLIGHT has launched two new products, the WELDForm and the Automatic Parameter Tuning (APT) devices. Both solutions are designed to meet the needs of various advanced battery manufacturing customers.

The high-power semiconductor and fibre laser supplier hopes to provide enhanced laser welding technologies to the growing e-mobility market. nLIGHT aims to do this through its suite of products designed to enhance weld quality and quality assurance.

About nLIGHT’s new launches:

  • WELDForm: Works to provide pool stabilisation to reduce spatter and defects in laser welding. Also ensures consistent weld penetration and weld profile control.
  • APT: Utilising the nLIGHT Plasmo’s process observer technology, APT leverages artificial intelligence to enable the automated development of first-time-right system settings relating to detecting welding defects.
