With 45 years of cross-platform CMM, metrology, and aerospace experience, Terry Wear has been appointed to the position for Verisurf, a major measurement solutions company based out of California. His experience includes former positions at Wenzel, Perceptron, Mitutoyo, LK, and IMS.
“Terry is extremely familiar with our software; this combined with his deep knowledge of new and legacy CMM platforms, and reputation for customer service, make him the perfect choice to manage CMM integration for Verisurf. We are very pleased to have Terry as part of our team,” said Ernie Husted, President, and CEO of Verisurf Software, Inc.
Verisurf has maintained a long-standing commitment to open platform compatibility as it relates to metrology software and hardware. Using Verisurf software, metrology workflows and inspection plans can be created once and used across the manufacturing enterprise on any portable or fixed CMM.
“We are excited to have Terry on-board as part of our compatibility commitment to our customers. The key to compatibility across all metrology applications and devices falls on the measurement software, and its ability to communicate with the design authority, typically a 3D CAD model, and CMMs used to collect measured points. Verisurf software does an excellent job at this, but every customer has special needs, and this is where Terry and his team shine. Depth of experience with all types of CMMs, new and legacy, ensures seamless integration across all platforms and produces relevant workflows for each customer,” said Nick Merrell, Executive Vice President of Verisurf Software, Inc.
Verisurf is the only inspection and measurement software built on a full-featured 3D CAD platform with intelligent Model-Based Definition (MBD). This lets users perform measurement and inspection workflows in a seamless CAD environment and maintains model-based digital continuity. Verisurf software is compatible with all CAD file formats, and the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI) communicates with and drives all fixed and portable CMMs for universal compatibility.
“I am very happy and motivated to be part of the Verisurf team. This opportunity is a culmination of my career to date in which I have seen first-hand the development and in many cases the frustrations of customers working under proprietary operating systems. Today’s metrology is all about open platform usability, and that’s my goal for every customer. One software, any CMM. It’s just common sense and delivers real benefits, including better process control, seamless workflow, lower software costs, reduced training costs, and overall better resource utilization,” said Terry Wear, Director of CMM Integration, Verisurf Software, Inc.
Terry Wear will also be present in the Verisurf booth #133345 at IMTS 2022 and is available for comment.
