Nano Dimension's Eva 250vx 3D printer
Nano Dimension unveiled its new 3D printer at Formnext. The Exa 250vx Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D printer is designed for micro applications and has been developed to create micro parts with enhanced resolution at high production throughput.
The additive electronics manufacturer designed the new 3D printer using insights from the Fabrica Tera and Fabrica Giga systems, resulting in the Exa 250vx prioritising productivity regarding precise micro parts. Additionally, the solution aims to improve reliability and cost-effectiveness, as the Exa 250vx presents itself as an alternative solution to traditional micro-manufacturing methods like micro-injection moulding and micro-CNC.
Key features of Nano Dimension’s Exa 250vx:
- Claims to provide rapid production and high resolution, allowing the user to produce specific micro parts with particular engineering requirements.
- Compatible with Nano Dimension’s range of resins for high-resolution micro parts, starting with D-810, allowing for durable, rigid parts with high structural integrity.
- Build volume of 100mm x 100mm x 70mm.
- Resolution of 7.6µm XY.
- Layer thickness of 10 microns.
Due to the solution's resin-based DLP technology, the Exa 250vx is ideal for companies in a variety of vertical sectors and applications. Specifically, the 3D printer will help produce connectors and other miniaturised components for electronic devices, medical devices (e.g., microneedles, micro filters, and components used in minimally invasive surgeries), optical applications, and micro-decorative items.
“Manufacturers producing micro parts are facing a trade-off between precision and productivity,” said Nir Sade, Senior Vice President of Additive Manufacturing at Nano Dimension. “As part of Exa’s development, we worked closely with customers to address a host of needs such as high-volume parts production with micro-level detail for parts larger than the 50mm build limit we currently have on the Tera. The result is a system that provides the perfect balance of quality, productivity and cost, making it a game changer for the industry.”
If you are attending Formnext (19-22 November) in Frankfurt, Germany, you can see the Exa 250vx at Nano Dimension's stand in Hall 11.0, Booth D22.
