Metrologic Group
Metrologic Group has announced the release of the Metrolog and Silma V20 X4 software, with updates that it says will improve performance, productivity, and data interpretation.
The company says that the updated software extends the 5-axis capabilities, through the addition of Renishaw’s REVO Fringe Probe (RFP) to its repertoire. According to Metrologic Group, Metrolog X4 is now the only software on the market that integrates the RFP and provides support for both analysing the resulting point cloud and simulation, all in a single software.
The software also proposes new methods to manage 5-axis head trajectory to ensure a constant head angle when measuring curved surfaces. The methods improve accessibility and facilitate programming according to the company.
The software has long supported Catia V5 (CATPart) import, and is extending its support for Catia V6 (3DXML). Metrolog X4 now has the same level of support as Catia V6 as is provided for the existing Catia V5 import.
The company says that Metrolog X4 decodes all the Catia V6 import functionalities, CAD geometries, and PMI. This addition ensures Metrolog X4 relevancy with Catia’s new format and ensures a ‘seamless’ transition for existing customers according to Metrologic Group.
For users that manage multiple workcells for a single machine, the improved workcell management now offers a streamlined and rationalised approach for handling this scenario. This results in workcells that are more easily updated and maintained according to the company. An additional advantage is the potential for an 80% reduction in workcell data storage.
