Metrologic Group
Metrologic Group launch its Planner X4.
Metrologic Group has expanded the capabilities of its software suite with the introduction of its new Planner X4 tool. With this new ability, the user will be able to prepare work in advance of the measurement process occurring. As a result, the user will be able to save time and minimise the chance of an error interrupting the manufacturing chain.
To optimise the metrology process, companies must think globally and take a proactive approach to planning, programming, measurement, and analysis processes. The planning process is essential to ensuring error-free 3D measurements.
The five stages to prepare the 3D inspection process with Planner X4:
- Plan offline: Start by scheduling the inspection plan in Planner x4, this can even be completed offline or with no measuring equipment connected.
- Customise the measurement process: Decide which features and points to focus on during the measurement process. The user can do this by identifying the specific needs of the process and which features are the most important to measure. Then the user needs to choose the type of alignment to be applied, select the reference elements, and then prepare the labels within Planner X4.
- Use all data to calculate the measurement: Using basic 2D data, integrated PMI data, and different imported planning files, the 3D measurement can be calculated.
- Import data: Any type of data, from IGS to CATParts, can be used to set up the 3D inspection process. Planner X4 ensures any type of file format can be utilised.
- Analyse the 3D measurement: The overview of the measurement process can be directly accessed to ensure the full compliance of each step of the process. Reports can be generated using a variety of structures, images can be dragged and dropped into the report, and once the measurement process is complete the report will fill itself out. This will be completed per the framework and important points previously laid out by the user.
