Leica Geosystems expands measuring channels in geospatial data collection

Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, boosts efficiency levels in geospatial data collection with the introduction of the new high-performance single photon LiDAR (SPL) technology. Integrated with hybrid sensors, the new solution offers an expanded 60-degree field of view and over 500 measurement channels.

Significantly surpassing the capabilities of its predecessor, the new launch claims to deliver “unmatched data collection performance over large areas in less time.” The new single photon LiDAR solution is also compatible with all Leica Geosystems peripherals.

According to its developers, the new SPL boasts a 5x better LiDAR collection rate compared to traditional linear-mode LiDAR as it collects over 14 million measurements per second.
