KVS collaborates with Creality
KVS has announced its collaboration with Shenzhen Creality 3D Technology Co Ltd (Creality), known for its consumer-level 3D printing solutions, as well as other 3D technology systems. The duo will work together to combine the reverse engineering software platform QUICKSURFACE with Creality’s new RaptorX reverse engineering solution.
The RaptorX is Creality’s 3-in-1, wireless 3D scanner designed for desktop engineers needing accurate 3D data and smooth capture workflows. Utilising the workflow detailed below, the 3D scanner can handle captured data, with the accompanying scan software performing initial data processing. While the 3D scan may resemble a CAD model, it is unusable in direct manufacturing applications. QUICKSURFACE is expected to fill this gap in the solution’s offering.

“We are thrilled to combine our new scanner with QUICKSURFACE, offering a complete reverse engineering solution to our engineering customers,” said Joy Meng, Senior Manager at CREALITY.
Key Features of Creality’s RaptorX platform:
- Boasts 3-in-1 Functionality: With 34 Cross Laser Lines, seven Parallel Laser Lines, and NIR Structured Light.
- Enhanced Volumetric Accuracy: Aims to achieve precision with 0.02mm + 0.06mm/m accuracy.
- High-Speed Scanning Capabilities: Can capture up to 1,020,000 points/s with 34 Cross Laser Lines and NIR scanning speeds of up to 30fps.
- Large Object Size Range: Objects ranging from 0.2 to 157 inches (5 to 4000mm) can be scanned with this solution.
- Flexible Scanning: Wireless technology provides better flexibility and convenience when scanning.
- Extended Scanning Period: An improved battery capacity provides up to 4 hours of continuous scanning.
- Speedy Data Transmission: AX6000 makes data transfer more efficient during processing and analysis.
- Scan Black and Metal Objects: Challenging materials can be scanned easily without sprays needed.
- Full-Colour Scanning: Colour capture is possible in all scanning modes, providing detailed and realistic models.
“We have always been impressed by how Creality has created a powerful global 3D printing business in a relatively short period of time. It is a great privilege for us to be recognised as their reverse engineering software supplier of choice,” added Chris Dryden, Head of QUICKSURFACE Partnerships at KVS. “We know from our years of experience in the world of high-end engineering, that customers need solutions to their problems, not just ‘products’. Combined, KVS and Creality are enabling many engineers to access full reverse engineering capability that was previously out of their reach.”
