MCT560 Series Online NIR Analyzers
KPM Analytics aims to help reduce waste and optimise processing efficiencies with its new MCT560 Online Near Infrared (NIR) Sensor Series. Each of the three additions to the series aims to measure parameters including moisture, oil (fat), coat weight, and temperature. The scientific instrumentation developer believes this will help manufacturers battle against macro factors including rising ingredient prices and the unpredictable fuel market.
By analysing the moisture and fat content, operators should be able to increase yields, reduce waste, and optimise quality assurance levels. With the addition of NIR technology, product specifications should be met more accurately, with moisture control being able to be measured within one-tenth of a percent.
“Increased data collection speed alone can help companies address soaring costs,” said Chris Pike, Senior Global Business Development Director for NIR Products with KPM Analytics, “but the new MCT560 Series offers so much more.”
To help meet the needs of the industrial manufacturing and food processing sectors, KPM Analytics developed three sensors for this new range:
- The MCT560 is to be used with wood products, paper converting, chemicals and minerals, tobacco and other industrial manufacturing applications.
- The MCT566 is to be used with snack foods, baked goods, ingredients, animal feed and other food production applications.
- The MCT569 can be used in food production and offers full washdown capabilities (IP69 rated).
One of the main improvements found in the MC560 Series is the measurement speed, which is three times faster than its predecessor, the MCT460 NIR Sensor Series. Additionally, the new systems can record 99 data points per second, allowing individual products to be measured on a high-speed conveyor belt.
Improved real-time analysis, precision, usability features, and serviceability, are also expected. The new product family also boasts a larger user interface based on the latest SensorVu software platform.
