Keysight Technologies' 4881HV High Voltage Wafer Test System.
Keysight Technologies (Keysight) has revealed its new 4881HV High Voltage Wafer Test System. Designed to boost productivity levels within the semiconductor industry, the solution enables parametric tests up to 3kV, supporting high and low-voltage in one-pass tests.
Traditionally, manufacturers measure wafers with separate testers for high and low voltages. However, the demand for power semiconductors is growing because of the multifunctional, high-performance characteristics of devices like silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN). As a result, customers require more accurately and efficiently tested devices to minimise the time to market.
The new wafer test system helps address these issues by enabling power device markers to perform process control monitoring (PCM) and wafer acceptance testing (WAT) in manufacturing settings.
Key benefits of the 4881HV High Voltage Wafer Test System:
- High-Voltage Capability: The high-voltage switching matrix (HV-SWM) supports up to 3kV requirements and is scalable up to 29 pins. It can also be fully integrated into precision source measure units (SMUs). This helps provide flexible measurements.
- One-pass Testing: Providing increased productivity and efficiency, the HV-SWM gives users a single test system instead of engineers having to require high-voltage and low-voltage test systems.
- Improved reliability and Safety: With built-in protection circuitry and machine control, operators and equipment are not impacted by high-voltage surges during test scenarios.
“Keysight is thrilled to introduce our new wafer test system for power semiconductors, building on our long tenure of testing advanced semiconductors,” said Shinji Terasawa, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight's Wafer Test Solutions. “Our mission is to lead the market by providing cutting-edge solutions that anticipate and meet the rapidly evolving needs of the semiconductor sector. This latest innovation exemplifies our unwavering commitment to the industry.”
