Hexagon/Tesa PMI
Hexagon AB has entered into an agreement to sell its Tesa PMI (Precision Measurement Instruments) business to Hangzhou Great Star Industrial Company Ltd. Hexagon says this divestment reflects its commitment to focus on core business activities directly accretive to its mid-term growth, margin and cash generation targets.
Hexagon says that in 2022, PMI contributed 50.9 MEUR in revenues, with below group average profitability, to Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division according to the company. The sale is subject to customary, limited closing conditions and is expected to close in Q1 2024, with further details expected in Hexagon's Q1 report.
Tesa PMI is a leader in the field of height gauges, and offers a wide range of instruments, such as callipers, micrometers, dial gauges, lever-type dial test indicatiors and inductive probes. Tesa became part of Hexagon in 2001.

The Tesa Micro-Hite, one of the height gauges offered by the company, was recently referred to as the "Swiss army knife of gauges" by Paul Hodgkinson, Sales Manager for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, in an article with Product Engineering Solutions. This tool is designed to "fill the gap" between traditional instruments and sophisticated measuring machines according to the company.
One of Tesa's most recent launches, the TESATRONIC TWIN-T20, is a digital display unit that the company says allows users to quickly and intuitively read measurement data and to gain significant reliability in inspection, adjustment, or assembly.
