Flexxbotics now compatible with Renishaw machine tool probes.
Flexxbotics has again expanded its compatibility range, now to include Renishaw’s inspection probes. In recent weeks, Flexxbotics has already announced compatibility expansion including Hexagon and Cognex products. Now, Renishaw customers can enable robot-driven manufacturing to help achieve precision quality with Six Sigma consistency and improved capacity.
“We understand the crucial role that in-line inspection technologies play in enabling autonomy in the smart factory by providing the closed-loop feedback required for autonomous process control,” said Tyler Modelksi, CTO and Co-founder of Flexxbotics. “That’s why we have focused on making all types of inspection equipment such as probes, vision systems, lasers and gauges, CMMs and more interoperable with the CNC machines and production robots, essential for robot-driven manufacturing.”
Renishaw products now compatible with Flexxbotics:
- Standard and high-accuracy machine tool probes (including optical transmission probes, hard-wired probes, lathe probes, and modular probes).
- On-machine scanning probes with SPRINT technology.
- Contact and non-contact advanced laser tool setting systems.
- Broken tool detection systems.
The FlexCORE technology allows robots to connect and communicate with Renishaw’s equipment. Said robots will receive closed-loop feedback which is based on automated inspection results. Then, real-time adjustments can be made to CNC machine programs for autonomous process control. Additionally, Flexxbotics can help achieve unattended operations, allowing for higher yields, improved throughput and a greater profit per part.
The SaaS/hybrid Flexxbotics’ architecture can run both online and offline, allowing for the production to continue either with or without internet access. Additionally, Flexxbotics works with existing business systems (e.g., CAD/CAM, DNC, SCADA/HMI, IIoT, MES, ERP, PLM and others for comprehensive process integration).
