Portable 3D measurement solutions provider Creaform has launched the latest version of its VXintegrity non-destructive testing (NDT) software platform. Version 1.1’s most significant addition is its brand-new algorithm which eliminates the need for human interaction during the surface analysis process.
Key information:
- Creaform has launched Version 1.1 of its VXintegrity NDT software platform, featuring a new algorithm.
- The new addition eliminates the need for human interaction and enables the inspection of complex components including double curvature geometries and advanced nozzles.
- With the new algorithm, 3D surface assessments will no longer require a CAD model reference or any manual interventions.
Creaform launched the VXintegrity software last year. The platform is formed of four software modules, and it works by integrating all analytical functions and tools into a user-friendly interface. Inspection teams and service companies from the aerospace, mining, oil and gas, and power generation industries are the intended users of the software.
“Since the launch last year, the reception of VXintegrity has been really positive. Many new customers were really impressed by the solution’s performance and agreed that the return on investment of the technologies wouldn’t be too long to achieve,” said Jérome-Alexandre Lavoie, Creaform’s Director of Product Management. “VXintegrity works seamlessly with Creaform’s HandySCAN 3D handheld scanner, which facilitates and accelerates NDT workflows, even in a tight labour market. This is the value Creaform brings to the table: powerful 3D scanners and complete, integrated 3D measurement software.”
Version 1.1 of the software features a brand-new algorithm set to eliminate the need for human interaction whilst a surface is being analysed. Additionally, no CAD model reference or manual intervention will be required during any 3D surface assessment. The new algorithm does not suffer from the same limitations as its predecessors, with more complex components including double curvature geometries, elbow pipes, valves, advanced nozzles, boiler tubes, and t-joints, now being easier to inspect.
‘’By developing a dedicated NDT software platform, Creaform is showing the world its commitment to the NDT market and willingness to invest in developing the most innovative 3D scanning solution for surface damage assessment. Version 1.1 is in alignment with this commitment. Our newly reconstructed algorithm beats all other approaches on the market,” said François Lachance, Product Manager at Creaform.
