Cohu headquarters
Cohu Inc. has successfully landed a $100 million (approximate) revenue opportunity with a leading European electronics and semiconductor manufacturer. The contract, expected to span over five years, involves Cohu’s test and inspection automation systems. The semiconductor equipment and services specialist had a first design-win with its Krypton platform, as well as other products which were requalified.
Krypton is an inspection and metrology platform which focuses on meeting the growing quality demands seen in the automotive and industrial sectors. The platform delivers up to 30% higher throughput and uptime compared to its competitors. Krypton combines Cohu’s NV-Core vision technology with racetrack architecture.
“We are excited to continue to evolve and expand in semiconductor test and inspection, and this latest win reinforces the company’s leading position and commitment to our customers,” said Luis Müller, President and CEO at Cohu. “We are happy to introduce Cohu’s new Krypton inspection platform, expanding our portfolio in a key strategic growth area.”
With the automotive semiconductor market forecasted to grow by around 10% annually to $135 billion by 2028, Cohu believes its products help users meet increasing quality demands. The company’s solutions claim to detect defects as small as 1 µm during high-speed production
