Coherent ARM FL20D fibre laser system
Coherent Corp (Coherent) has unveiled the latest addition to its ARM laser family, the ARM FL20D fibre laser. Featuring a higher power level of 20 kW and dual ring beam configuration, the new solution aims to advance welding capabilities. The laser technology provider claims its ARM FL20D boasts faster speeds and improved quality levels across a variety of applications.
The new solution incorporates a centre beam with two coaxial ring beams that have independent control. This allows for precise control over the welding process, with improved results, especially with challenging materials like cast aluminium. Additionally, users can save on costs as there is no need for filler wire when using the ARM FL20D.
“The ARM FL20D laser is a game-changer for the welding industry,” said Jarno Kangastupa, Managing Director of Coherent Tampere (Finland). “Its ability to achieve higher welding speeds while maintaining exceptional quality and reducing costs makes it an ideal solution for manufacturers seeking to improve their productivity and competitiveness.”
Key features of the ARM FL20D fibre laser:
- Greater power: Faster welding speeds with up to 20 kW maximum power.
- Improved control: Dual ring configuration offers precise control over the welding process.
- Reduce costs: By eliminating filler wire, users can improve efficiency levels and reduce costs in various applications.
- Enhanced quality: Achieve consistent welding results, even with challenging materials like cast aluminium.
As well as tasks featuring cast aluminium, applications including EV drivetrain and body-in-white applications are also expected to be improved with the new solution. These adoptions make the ARM FL20D ideal for companies in the automotive, aerospace, and energy storage sectors.
